Love Unconditional is a non-profit organization that focuses on bettering the lives of children with disabilities or chronic illnesses. All of our money, time, and resources are donated to local hospitals. We want to encourage acts of kindness and creativity among these children and those who interact with them.
About four years ago, our founder, Sarah Calvert, had an idea. As a child, she frequently visited different hospitals and therapy centers for surgeries, physical therapy, check-ups, and (her least favorite) fittings for leg braces. As unpleasant as these visits may sound, she benefitted greatly from all the hard work of her therapists, doctors, and surgeons.
She wanted to give back. Thus, The Rose Garden was born. Sarah had the idea that she would write and self-publish a book, sell it to her friends, family, and neighbors, and use the money she gained from profit to donate to these local hospitals. After writing several drafts and finding the perfect graphic designer to make her cover, her book was finally finished.
However, she realized that she not only wanted to give back, but to make a change in how others viewed those with disabilities, whether they be mental or physical. She wanted to encourage creativity among children by urging them to put down the phone and pick up a book.
These are the two goals of Love Unconditional: to promote creativity and kindness. Thanks to our new Inspire Creativity program, you can make a donation and send a copy of The Rose Garden to a child in need. Also, you can spread unconditional love and kindness throughout the community by using the hashtag #loveunconditionalproject.
It is our hope that we can start a new movement of unconditional love for those who struggle on a daily basis with illness or disability. We hope that we will inspire you to be kind and creative. Thank you for supporting us, we hope you will continue to spread our movement.
All the best,
Love Unconditional Project
